Don't Forget the Good Music Adventure

I've been on vacation from band, but not from writing! Dont' forget the Good Music Adventure. I've gotten much more comfortable with writing a daily blog and my style is starting to get much more comfortable. I've made lots of good recommendations from many different genres. Please visit...I love to share my musical tastes and ideas!

I've been getting lots of calls/emails about ordering shirt, shoes, or band camp payments. If you need to take care of any of these items, contact Mrs. Garwood. I'll be back at work taking calls and messages after the July 4th holiday.

Hope your summer is going well. Don't forget to check out the Good Music Adventure. I've been blogging all summer long!

Olivia Forms A Band

One of my favorite kids' book series is Olivia by Ian Falconer. The newest installment is out this week:"Oliva Forms A Band." Just thought all of you band folks would like the idea. Details on the Amazon page.

Billy Preston has Passed

Billy Preston, pop/rock pianist extrordinaire and "fifth Beatle" passed away today at the age of 59. He played most famously on the Beatle's "Get Back" as well as many other songs from their late career. You can read more about his life in this CNN article.

Don't Forget the Good Music Adventure!

Don't forget about the Good Music Adventure! Just because it's summer doesn't mean I'm not thinking about and recommending great music. Now that you have endless summer hours in which to explore new sounds, it should be worth your while to visit the Adventure daily!

Merton on Art

"Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time."

You are You...

"Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You."
- Dr. Seuss. American Writer and Cartoonist best known for his collection of children's books. 1904-1991

Congrats, Rachel!

Congratulations to band member Rachel Bisker on her performance at and leading up to the OHSAA state track meet! She and her teammates had a great showing this season in the 4X400 relay and at the state meet at Jesse Owens Stadium. They finished 7th in their heat, capping an amazing year-end run. Even more impressive is that all the team members (including Ember Ryan, Kristin Burns, and Ashley Short) are all underclassmen and will be able to compete again next year! Great Job, Rachel!

Band Camp Payments/Shirt&Shoe orders

If you still need to make a payment to get $100 in your account, or need to place a shirt/shoe order, email Mrs. Garwood to make arrangements for payment this summer. If you don't order shirt/shoes, you won't have them when the time comes.
