Pep Band Update 11/16/07

*Pep band folders will be handed out next week. I wanted to have them to you before this weekend, but technical difficulties prevented me from getting it done.

*Thank you, everyone, for getting your tshirt sizes on the list as quickly as you did. If you would like to pre-pay for your shirt, get $10 cash or check payable to "Fairbanks Band" to Mr. Keller whenever it is convenient. Shirts will be delivered no later than December 7, which is the day before our first performance.

*The two after-school rehearsals we have are VERY important. Please arrange to be at both rehearsals on December 3rd and 5th from 3:00 to 5:30 P.M. in the band room.

*If you are playing winter sports, please arrange with your coach to be at least one of the two rehearsals. If you are a rookie, I would prefer you make the Monday rehearsal if you have to choose. If you are a veteran, I would prefer you make it to the Wednesday rehearsal.

*Our first game is on Saturday, December 8, when the girls' basketball team takes on Jon Alder. We will rehearse at 5:45. Due to a prior commitment on my schedule, we will disband after halftime of the varsity girls' game at approximately 8:15 P.M. All other games this season we will stay until the end of the game. Please wear your pep band shirt to every game to show your spirit and pride.

*Please practice your music and do your best. Rookies should focus on the Victors, Alma Mater, Star Spangled Banner, and cheers to start. High school members are responsible for being able to play ALL tunes assigned in the folder. This may mean quite a bit of individual practice time, but it is necessary for us to sound our best.

*Band members should enter through the front doors of the school and sign in on the checklist. Do not come in the back door. You will be turned away and told to go to the front door. Band members are admitted free to each game at which we perform.

*The Tuesday, December 18 game vs. Triad is our annual Alumni Pep Band performance, and only Seniors and alumni are invited to play. All underclassmen are welcome to come to the game, but must sit in the bleachers with the rest of the Panther fans.

*Have fun, cheer the panthers on to a V-I-C-T-O-R-Y and live up to your reputation as the "Sixth Man" of the FHS basketball team!
