BUMP: Booster Bake Sale At Concert Dec. 17

Image
From Mary Ellen:

Greetings. As the Holiday season is coming closer...we need to prepare for our Holiday Concert on December 17.

We would like to have a bake sale at the concert to help raise some money. If you are willing to help donate some baked goods for the sale, or know of someone that would like to help and bake some items. Please contact Chrisa Findley at cabfindley@yahoo.com to let her know.

I suggest any item you bake be individually wrapped and if you could let us know the ingredients, just in case we have some allergy issues. Just copy the recipe and we will place it with the item, just in case someone has questions.

Thank you again for all your support! See you the 17th!

Mary Ellen Garwood

UPDATE:
Just to add a little extra to Miss Mary Ellen's email, there will be a prize (A really nice one) for the best baking talent. Be sure to put your name in with your goodies. We are selling them as "eat as you go" snacks, tempting taste buds as folks leave the conc…

Image
From WOSU and the OSU music department:

We wanted to share the exciting news that our friends at WOSU TV will broadcast the premiere of ‘The Ohio State University Holiday Extravaganza 2012’ on Sunday (12/9) at 8 p.m. The broadcast, in true HD, is an edited hour-long feature of the best of the 20th Annual School of Music Celebration Concert presented on November 30 for a capacity crowd at Mershon Auditorium. The program will re-air Sunday (12/25) at 8 p.m. and can also be heard as an audio program on Classical 101 FM on December 16 at 3 p.m. and on December 25 at 7 p.m.

This is a wonderful way for your students to share their concert experience with their parents.

Share the news through our Facebook Event Invitation: http://www.facebook.com/events/448391205216942/

Alumni Pep Band - January 4, 2013

Image
The 10th annual Fairbanks alumni pep band will be held on Friday, January 4, 2013. FHS band alumni from all bands and eras are welcome to come back to play on the stage and cheer the Panthers on to a victory!

We'll warm up at 6pm in the band room and perform between games and during the boys' varsity game. I promise the set list will be easy, fun, and not too taxing on the chops...even if you haven't dusted off the chops in a year...or two...or ten. LouieX2, Tequila, Land of 1000, Can't turn you loose, Sloopy, On Broadway, et al. It'll be fun, I promise!

Please RSVP by emailing me to let me know if you're coming, and also let me know if you need an instrument. I'll do my best to get folders to you in advance if possible. You can also RSVP on Facebook!

Be sure to spread the word to you band friends who are not frequent visitors to the blog or on Facebook so we can get the biggest and best alumni pep band yet!
