REVISED: 5/6 Band Schedule Change - Concert Prep

As the Spring Concert is coming up soon, the schedule must be changed to accommodate full band rehearsal for the 5th and 6th grade bands.  Here are the UPDATED changes:

5th Grade Band
Week of 4/22 - Regular Schedule
Week of 4/29 - Regular schedule Monday to Thursday
Friday, May 3  - FULL BAND meets in the HS band room
Week of 5/6 - FULL BAND meets EVERY DAY in the HS band room
Monday, May 13 - FULL BAND meets in the HS band room

6th Grade Band
Week of 4/22 - Last week of regular schedule
Week of 4/29 - FULL BAND meets on Monday/Wednesday/Friday in the HS band room.
Week of 5/6 - FULL BAND meets on Monday/Wednesday/Friday in the HS band room.
Monday, May 13 - FULL BAND meets in the HS band room

The Spring concert is on Monday, May 13, at 7pm.  Details for performers will be published one week before the concert.  By this Friday, all 5/6 band members will have received their official concert announcement on paper.  If you have not, you can see it on the blog here.

FMB: Contest Show 2013 - JAMES BOND

Okay...we're going into the realm of THE super spy this year. With a license to kill (each performance on the marching band field)  James Bond will be this year's contest show!

FMB: Memorial Day Parades - May 27

Our Memorial Day performances are very special to the residents of Milford Center and Unionville Center and we again happily contribute to their community celebrations. All FMB members are required to participate. Music will include the Victors, National Anthem, and America the Beautiful. Dress is Summer uniform. 
The day will begin at the Darby Township Building on Cross St. In Unionville and end at the cemetery in Milford. Bus transportation will be provided from Unionville to Milford if you require it.
9:15am - warm up 9:40 - Parade begins 10:00 - memorial service begins 10:45 - play at Unionville cemeteries 11:00 - load bus/trailer 11:15 - depart for Milford 11:20 - arrive Milford Center 11:30 - warm up/line up (at the fire station) 12:00 - parade #2 begins 12:15 - play at Milford cemetery 12:30 - band members are dismissed.

PSA: Drama Club Production April 19-20

Come out and see the High School Drama Club performance of When Dorothy Meets Alice or The Wizard of Wonderland a combination of the all time classic stories: The Wizard of Oz and Alice of Wonderland. Come re-live all your favorite characters as they set out to help a fellow friend do his school project that is about past due!
Performances are at the high school gym April 19-20th at 8pm.
Tickets will be available at the door $5 students $7 adults.

FMB Parent Meeting Info

If a member of your family did not attend the parent meeting on April 3, you MUST read all of this the bottom.
Info from Mr. Keller:
*It's going to be an exciting year for the FMB!  We will compete once this year, as well as perform at the North Union band festival and Circleville Pumpkin Show. It's a definite possibility we will once again perform at Honda family day as well.  It's our second year in a new football league and our five away games are all very close to home.  
*Attendance at every rehearsal and performance is required.  Students taking band for credit will be held accountable in the handbook grading policy and it will be strictly enforced.  Except in the case of personal illness, all excuses must be submitted in advance (48 hours for rehearsals and 14 days for performances) and must fit the handbook criteria for an excused absence.  Not having a ride, having to babysit, family vacations and the like are not excused absences.  Tolles students who…

Spring Concert - May 13 7pm

The Fairbanks Local Schools Department of Music Presents the 2013 Spring Concert Monday, May 13 7:00 P.M. – High School Gymnasium
Performing groups include: Fifth Grade Band, Sixth Grade Band, Middle School Choir, Junior High Concert Band, High School Concert Choir, and High School Concert Band.
*Attendance is required for all performers
Proper attire for performers is required: 5th, 6thand JH Band, MS Choir – Look nice. No jeans or tennis shoes. Guys wear ties. Ladies may wear pants or full-length skirts. HS Band and Choir – Ladies in all black, pants or long skirts, black shoes. Gentlemen wear black pants, socks, shoes, and a black long-sleeved collared dress shirt.
