FMB: Check Your Calendars

I received a call from Honda this week and we have been invited to perform at Honda family day at Kings Island on Saturday, September 7. Our responsibilities would include a brief concert as well as marching parade through the park. Honda would pay for transportation and also some additional money. Each band member would receive a free ticket to Kings Island for the day after our performing responsibilities over. I need to know very soon if this is possible or not. Could you please check your calendars and contact me ASAP if you cannot perform on Saturday, September 7? I hate to add an event to the calendar on such short notice but this seems too good to pass up. I will let you know as soon as possible when I make a decision.

FMB: Fair Parade July 22 6pm

The first performance for the 2013 Fairbanks Marching Band will be at the annual Union County Fair parade on Monday, July 22. The parade starts at 6PM this year, so band members will need to be ready to warm up at 5:15 on the South lawn of the Union County Courthouse. The parade travels up main street to the West fairground entrance.
Attire is summer uniform: Red band polo, all-black shorts, white socks, and white-ish shoes. Ladies should have their long hair in a pony tail or braid. The only visible jewelry permitted is a watch and/or your own class ring. Please leave earrings, necklaces, bracelets, etc. at home.
Percussion and sousaphones will be transported from the school via trailer. All other band members should bring their own instrument. You will then take it home with you and bring it to camp.
You will be admitted free to the fairgrounds when the parade is over, so stay as long as you like.

Here's where the parade begins:
