FHSCB@Vets May 23, 7pm

FHSCB@Vets Friday, May 23, 2014 Call is 6:15pm
*This event will be presented at Veteran's Auditorium, 236 W. 6th St., Marysville, Ohio. *Band members need to be in their seats by 6:15 for warm up and tuning. *Dress is regular concert black. *Put your cases backstage and bring only your instrument and music onto the stage. *The best advertising for this event is by WORD OF MOUTH.  Tell everyone you know! *Tickets are available at the door.  Students and adults are $5.  Children under 5 are free.

*The concert will last approximately one hour and will include a 10 minute intermission.

FMB: Memorial Day Parade May 26

Our Memorial Day performance on May 26 is very special to the residents Unionville Center and we again happily contribute to the community celebration. All FMB members are required to participate. Music will include the Victors, National Anthem, and America the Beautiful. Dress is Summer uniform. I will transport percussion and sousaphone. All other band members will be responsible for transporting their own instrument to and from the parade. (If you forgot your instrument, you can get it at the school at 8:45am)
The day will begin at the Darby Township Building on Cross St. In Unionville and end at the Methodist Church.

8:45am - School is open 9:15 - warm up 9:40 - Parade begins 10:00 - memorial service begins 10:45 - play at Unionville cemeteries 11:00 - Band members dismissed.

5th & 6th Band - Full Rehearsals

As the Spring Concert is rapidly approaching (on May 12), the 5th and 6th grade bands will be rehearsing as a full group starting the last week of April.  All band members will need to bring their books, instrument, and concert music on the following days:

5th Grade Band Monday, May 5 - Full Band Tuesday, May 6 - Full Band Wednesday, May 7 - Full Band Thursday, May 8 - Full Band Friday, May 9 - Full Band Monday, May 12 - Full Band (dress rehearsal in gym)
*Also note that 5th graders will be practicing for their concert with Mrs. Cooper, so there will be no band the week of April 28.
6th Grade Band Monday, April 28 - Full Band Wednesday, April 30 - Full Band Friday, May 2 - Full Band Monday, May 5 - Full Band Wednesday, May 7 - Full Band Friday, May 9 - Full Band Monday, May 12 - Full Band (dress rehearsal in gym)

Notre Dame Concert Band May 11

Bishop Watterson High School is pleased to announce that the University
of Notre Dame Concert Band under the direction of Dr. Ken Dye, will be
performing at Bishop Watterson High School gymnasium on Sunday, May 11 at
3:00 p.m.  We hope that you and your students will be able to join us for
an afternoon of great music.  Admission is free!

This will be the ensemble’s only stop in Central Ohio.
I hope you feel that this is an opportunity not to be missed.

FMB Parent Meeting Info

If a member of your family did not attend the parent meeting on April 3, you MUST read all of this the bottom.
Info from Mr. Keller:
*It's going to be an exciting year for the FMB!  We will compete once this year, as well as perform at the North Union band festival and Circleville Pumpkin Show. It's a definite possibility we will once again perform at Honda family day as well.  It's our second year in a new football league and our five away games are all very close to home.  The FMB will be performing THREE shows this year for the first time in over a decade.  Les Miserables will be our first show for contest and festival, Katy Perry will be the second show, and the final show of the year will be the senior show, with music chosen by the band seniors.
*Attendance at every rehearsal and performance is required.  Students taking band for credit will be held accountable in the handbook grading policy and it will be strictly enforced.  Except in the case of perso…
