FMB Parents: Did You Miss The Meeting?

If a member of your family did not attend the parent meeting on April 7, you MUST read all of this the bottom.
*It's going to be an exciting year for the FMB!  We will compete three times this year, as well as perform at the North Union band festival and Circleville Pumpkin Show. It is a more rigorous schedule, but it was driven by student demand. The kids wanted to compete more and I responded. All of our contest are close to home…Hilliard, Dublin, and OSU.
*Attendance at every rehearsal and performance is required.  Students taking band for credit will be held accountable in the handbook grading policy and it will be strictly enforced.  Except in the case of personal illness, all excuses must be submitted in advance (48 hours for rehearsals and 14 days for performances) and must fit the handbook criteria for an excused absence.  Not having a ride, having to babysit, family vacations and the like are not excused absences.  Tolles students who a…

Track Concessions

Good Afternoon all:
I am writing to give you an update on the track concessions and where we stand.  I met with Monica this past weekend and looked over the building with her.   I will be meeting with her tomorrow night (wed) at the building to "clean it up" from the winter rest and get it ready to go for Saturday.
We are in charge of concessions for both HS and MS track meets dates are:
April 11 @ 1:30 (HS) April 13 @ 4:30 (MS) April 21 @ 4:30 (HS) April 23 @ 4:30 (MS) April 28 @ 4:00 (HS)  This is senior night May 5 @ 4:30 (MS)
I am guessing that each of the 4:30 events will last around 2 hours, so with set up and clean up, I assume we need to commit to about a 3-4 hour volunteer spot?  Does that sound about right to any parent "in the know" with track?  I am asking the folks included to help out with the Saturday meet since we are running short on time, I will do a sign up site for the remainder of the events.    Let me know if you can or can not  help on Saturday, I fig…

FMB Trip to DCI Dublin July 27

Emerald City Games - Dublin, OH Monday, July 27, 2015, 7:00 P.M.
I’m very excited that interested members of the FMB will be able to attend a DCI (Drum Corps International) competition again this year.  Drum Corps is a competitive circuit of brass, percussion, and guard members that occurs all summer at various sites, culminating in a final competition in August.  It is an awe-inspiring sight if you have not ever experienced it.  Imagine the best marching band you have ever seen, then double the level of perfection….and you have DCI.  This year’s show will feature several corps that finished in the top 12 last year, including the Blue Devils, Blue Stars, Bluecoats, Colts, and Crossmen.  Parents are welcome to attend.  Group discount tickets are available if we have 20 or more going.  Tickets are $21 and buses will be paid for by the music department.  If you are interested in going on this trip (it is not mandatory), please read the following info and return the permission slip with $21…
