FMB: Homecoming/Alumni Band Info

This Friday is FHS homecoming and we're hosting our second Alumni Marching Band!  Here's the details:

5pm - FMB rehearses at Harmony
5:30pm - Alumni Band rehearses at Harmony
5:45 - FMB/Alumni Band rehearse at Harmony
6:10 - Dress
6:35 - Inspection
6:50 - Pregame
7:00 - Game Starts*
8:00 - Halftime*
9:30 - Game ends*

Alumni band members are reminded to wear jeans on bottom and red on top. Feel free to break out "vintage" band shirts as your uniform! Be at the practice field at 5:30 with your instrument. If you need an instrument, it will be waiting on you in the band room.

Both FMB and Alumni Band will play together on the Fight Song, Alma Mater, SSB, and Seven Nation Army during pre-game.

Alumni Marching Band Sept. 30 (Updated)

Once again we will host a Fairbanks Alumni Marching Band on Friday, September 30 at our homecoming game. There has been some continued interest so we are so glad to bring back the FAB!

I will need to know at least a week ahead of time who all is coming so I can get you in free and also make sure I have an instrument for you if you are a percussionist/low brass/mellophone.

The tentative schedule is:

5:00pm  FMB rehearses for homecoming at Harmony
5:30pm  Alumni Band music rehearsal at Harmony
5:45pm  Combined bands rehearsal at Harmony
6:15pm  Students dress for pre-game
6:50pm  FMB/Alumni Band perform pre-game
7:00pm  Game starts
8:00pm  Halftime
9:30pm  Game over

*Music will be mailed or emailed to you.  The Alumni Band will play The Victors, Alma Mater, Star Spangled Banner, and Seven Nation Army with the FMB at pre-game.

The march-in starts at 5:40 and the first band is on at 6pm.

4:30 - Drumline rehearsal
5:30 - Full rehearsal at Harmony Field
6:15 - Dress/Prep
6:35 - March to Kyre
6:50 - Pre-game
7:00 - Game begins
8:00 - Halftime
9:30 - Game ends

Dress is Full Uniform. No visible jewelry. Hair is to be back.

Come prepared to rehearse well before the game. We have lots of new things to review and old ones to fix.

We will be using full props and visuals tonight.

Cheers are to be memorized. Stand tunes will be provided. All halftime music should be supremely memorized.

You will have the third quarter off. Please be on your best behavior when out and about.

Snacks will be provided for FMB and the visiting band after halftime at the booster concession stand.

-Dress is FULL UNIFORM.  Wear shorts or slender pants under you uniform pants.  NO VISIBLE JEWELRY is to be worn when in uniform.  Band shoes and black crew-length socks are required.  Ladies - long hair is to be off the collar in a military style.
-We will performing the entire contest show today.  Please assure me you have all of your music memorized and all your drill learned.  Be well rested and hydrated for this event.
-The boosters will have a meal for you after your performance, but if you wish to eat at the concession stand as well, buy a contest tshirt, or shop the band merchandise, you'll want to bring some spending money.
