FMB: Memorial Day Parades May 29

Once again the FMB has the honor of playing for both of our community Memorial Day observances. Please see report times below. Dress is Summer uniform. Repertoire is Victors, SSB, and America the Beautiful.

Trumpet players see me if you are interested in playing taps at the Unionville Center cemetery.

9:15am - warm up 9:40 - Parade begins 10:00 - memorial service begins 10:45 - play at Unionville cemeteries 11:00 - load bus/trailer 11:15 - depart for Milford 11:20 - arrive Milford Center 11:30 - warm up/line up (at the fire station) 12:00 - parade #2 begins 12:15 - play at Milford cemetery 12:30 - band members are dismissed.
Bus service between Unionville Center and Milford Center will be provided, or students can ride with parents.

Immediately after the Milford parade, band members and their families are invited to dine at the VFW at a delicious buffet lunch, provided at no cost as a thank you for your sacrifice of time on this Holiday.

FHSCB: Graduation May 27

We will say "congratulations" and "farewell" to the class of 2017 on Saturday, May 27, at the 54th annual FHS commencement exercises.  The FHSCB is an integral part of the ceremony and attendance is required for all members. Here's the details:
8:30 - Set up.  Anyone interested in helping out would be greatly appreciated.  NHS or NJHS service credit is an option. 9:30 - Warm up at Kyre Field.  In the event of rain, the event will be held in the FHS gym.  BE ON TIME. 10:00 - Pomp and Circumstance 10:05 - The FHSCB is featured.  Seniors will come to the band area to perform. 10:30 - Recessional.  Band members are dismissed immediately after. 10:35 - Tear down.  Anyone able to help put everything away will be greatly appreciated.
Attire for the day is slightly different than our regular concert black:
Gentlemen: Look nice.  No jeans or tennis shoes.  Please wear a tie. Ladies: Look nice.  No jeans or tennis shoes.  Skirts are to cover the knees. You may also wear …

The Spring concert is on Tuesday, May 9, at 7pm.  Details for performers will be published one week before the concert.  All 5th grade band members should have received their official concert announcement on paper.  

FHSCB@Vets 2017 - May 19

FHSCB@Vets 2017 Friday, May 19 - 7pm Union County Veteran's Auditorium, Marysville
*This event will be presented at Veteran's Auditorium, 233 W. 6th St., Marysville, Ohio. *Band members need to be in their seats by 6:15 for warm up and tuning. *Dress is regular concert black.
*Attendance is required for band members. *Put your cases backstage and bring only your instrument and music onto the stage. *The best advertising for this event is by WORD OF MOUTH.  Tell everyone you know! *Tickets are available at the door.  Adults are $7, students/seniors $5.  Children under 5 are free.

*The concert will last approximately one hour and will include a 10 minute intermission.

FMB Update 4/5

*We have 37 tentative members for this year's FMB. Quality is more important the quantity. Our group is well balanced and full of good musicians! We are still look for two additional sideline percussion personnel. Please contact me if you you know someone who might be interested in helping out in this important role.

*The calendar of events is up-to-date. We tentatively have three Saturday events scheduled this year, including three contests at Springfield Northwest, Watkins Memorial, and Dublin Jerome. We are also tentatively scheduled to perform at the North Union band festival as well.  These, and all events, are required. There is no bench in band, therefore it is essential that all band members be at all events unless excused via the attendance policy. The calendar is always available online from any digital device. The attendance policy emphasizes teacher member's importance to the group. Read it, know it, be it.
